Graphing Help

Graphing is available on the Logs > Graphing page and allows you to graph multiple PIDs in real-time.

PIDs configured on the graphing page are displayed on the graph and not logged to file. If you want to log data to file, you can configure logging on the Settings > Preferences > Logging page.

Graph Configuration

Press Menu on the Graphing page to open the Graph Configuration dialog. You will see two categories, which are Settings and Configuration.

Settings

Items in the settings category apply to all graphs.

Time Window sets the total number of seconds of data that is displayed. As new data is graphed, older data outside of the time window is discarded.

Display Legend sets whether the legend is displayed above each graph.

Consider disabling the legend to provide more vertical space for the data.

Legend Font Size sets the text font size for the legend.

X-Axis Labels enables or disables displaying the x-axis labels at the bottom of the graph.

Consider disabling x-axis labels to provide more vertical space for the data.

Y-Axis Labels enables or disables displaying the y-axis labels to the left and right of each graph.

Axis Title Font Size sets the font size for both the x-axis and y-axis labels.

Axis Numbers Font Size sets the font size of the number scale for both the x-axis and y-axis.

Configuration

Use the configuration section to configure the layout of the graphs and which PIDs are graphed.

Rows and Columns configures the number of rows and columns in the graph, where each row and column is a seperate chart. PIDs added to the same row and column will be overlapped on the same chart. The x-axis (time) is synchronized between all rows and columns.

Once you configure the number of rows and columns, press the chart to configure the PIDs that you want to graph. To add a new PID, press the Add button and a new PID will be added. Each PID that you add is listed in a different section. Within each section, you can configure the following properties:

• Configure the PID that you want to graph by pressing the name of the PID.
• Enable or disable graphing this PID by toggling the Enabled option. If you disable a PID, it will not be graphed but will remain in the configuration.
• Enable or disable smoothing by toggling the Smoothing option. When smoothing is enabled, the PID will be filtered to remove some high-frequency content.
• Select the color of the signal by pressing the color box or by editing the hexadecimal ARGB value.
• Enable or disable auto-scaling by toggling the Auto-Scale option. When auto-scale is enabled, the y-axis minimum and maximum will be set based on the range of the PID within the time window. When auto-scaling is disabled, you can set fixed y-axis minimum and maximum values.

Graphing Data

To graph data, you must be connected to the vehicle or playing back a data log file. Press the Start button in the navigation bar to start graphing. Data will continue to be graphed until you stop it by pressing the Stop button, you disconnect from the vehicle, or the data log is no longer being played back.

Once you have some data graphed and graphing is stopped, you can zoom the graph using a two-finger pinch gesture. When zoomed, you can pan the graph by moving it with your finger.
